Official Website

The official RoboCup 2025 website contains a lot of information about registration, visas, schedule, cargo and some practical advises. In this document, we’ve repeated some of this information and also added a few details from our personal experiences. Therefore, we recommend everyone to read both documentations.

Arrival at Salvador

The Salvador International Airport - Deputado Luiz Eduardo Magalhães (SSA) receives domestic and international flights. However, there might be better offers to enter in Brazil through other cities, such as São Paulo, at the Aeroporto Internacional de São Paulo/Guarulhos - Governador André Franco Montoro (GRU), or Rio de Janeiro, at the Aeroporto Internacional do Rio de Janeiro - Galeão – Antonio Carlos Jobim (GIG), and make a domestic connection to Salvador. In this case, the immigration and customs inspection (check “Goods to Declare” in the next section) processes might occur at the first Brazilian airport of arrival, for instance, that is what happens at GRU airport — for other airports there is the need to confirm this information. Therefore, we recommend to book direct flights to SSA airport. However, if direct flights to Salvador is not feasible due to budget or calendar, we recommend at least 3 hours between connection flights, that should be a safe amount of time.

⚠️ Goods to Declare ⚠️

If a team prefers to use it’s personal checked luggage as the transportation method, they should consider making an Electronic Declaration of Traveler’s Goods for Temporary Admission of Goods. This procedure is individual for each traveler and, even if the electronic declaration was not filled beforehand, they should consider declaring goods when disembarking from the airport, to regularize the temporary admission of their equipment. More information can be found at the Brazilian Government’s website, which mentions that not declaring goods that should have been declared might lead to the following:

If the traveler go to “Nothing to Declare” channel and is carrying goods which should have been declared, this option configures misrepresentation and loss of spontaneity to collect the tax due, punishable by a fine of 50% of the amount over the limit of exemption for the transport pathway used.

Note that each team is responsible for its own luggage and RoboCup will not take part in this procedure, unless the transportation is done via PlusCargo (the aforementioned company).

The following links from the Brazilian government’s website provide guidelines for handling temporary admission of goods:
